U.S. Representative Trey Gowdy of South Carolina recognized CEO Chip Smith and log home builder Blue Ridge Log Cabins last week for their work in promoting the aide of homeless women veterans. The two-hour season premiere of the hit ABC program Extreme Makeover: Home Edition featuring First Lady Michelle Obama in September was also part of the effort enlisting Blue Ridge to build a new home for the Steps and Stages Jubilee House in Fayetteville, NC, a shelter for homeless female veterans.
